Everything Starts and Stops With Leadership: How to Develop the Inner-Leader Within by Doug Dvorak

Forget tough. Today, competition is fierce! It takes more to succeed in business than just having a smart competitive strategy, good reputation, and a top-notch product or service. In reality, a company’s human capital holds the key to sustainable, long-term growth. Businesses don’t do business–people do. They create the force that ensures an organization’s successful future. These individuals hold the solutions to problems, the ways to improve productivity, the creativity to enhance products and services, and the insight that the company needs to move forward.
These goals become a reality if dynamic leadership is displayed and every executive and manager treats their employees as well as they treat their most important customers. Smart business owners and managers know that without the full support of their employees, no initiative can succeed, nor can any individual leader achieve their goals.
Mr. Dvorak is a certified sales trainer, management consultant and corporate humorist. Mr. Dvorak holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration in Marketing Management. However, Mr. Dvorak’s sense of humor is no less refined, as he is a graduate of the Player’s Workshop of the Second City, one of the oldest and most prestigious improvisational comedy schools in the world.

Session 1 - The Unwritten Laws of Engineering
This is the first of a four-part series on the book “The Unwritten Laws of Engineering,” by W. J. King that was first published in 1944. This session focuses on “What the Beginner Needs to Learn at Once,” and will address important lessons on how to successfully relate to your work, your supervisor, and how to deal with colleagues and outsiders.
